i was on the metro in dc months ago, and this man was sitting across from me. his face told such a story, i wanted so badly to talk to him and find out where he was going, where he came from etc.. instead i took a picture.
just as the ink dried on Melody's new record deal, i went up to philly to take some promotional photos for the overseas release of her record. (we also shot the cover, which i cant show you until its out)
I am unspeakably proud to have shot the cover for the Georgie James debut record ‘Places’ As I travel with them from town to town I realize that being apart of the visual presentation of their music redefines what photography means to me personally. This shot was more or less an accident. The tapestry seen in the photo was found on the floor of the studio in a place where we were clearly not supposed to be snooping around. My first instinct was not to use it for fear that it belonged to someone who was protective of this beautiful fabric. Ultimately it is one of the happiest accidents of my photographic life. It came to represent the stark, direct and honest mood of the record.
Pash asked me to do photos for their album artwork. they explained that the pictures were about a woman living during the civil war who kind of looses her mind. she decides to unravel her hair and pay a visit to the woman her husband is sleeping with.
I am thrilled share the all new ShervinFoto, now fully equipped with a blog, news section and MORE photos than before. This space will be put to good use, so bookmark it!
